Yijing Li is a London based author and illustrator who creates picture books for all ages. Yijing has a dual background in drawing and design and draw on a variety of techniques to produce beautiful hand drawn illustrations, as well as logical, geometrical, and design-oriented images.
Yijing has been longlisted in Folio Society’s Book Illustration Competitions and Association of Illustrators’ Prize For Illustration, exhibiting in the London Transport Museum in 2017. Yijing also received the highly commended honour in the Faber Andlyn Prize 2020. Her first book, Through The Forest, as an author and illustrator is published in Spring 2022, the book has won the Merit Award in the 9th Hiii Illustration International Competition, and long listed for the 2023 Klaus Flugge Prize. Her second book, Grandpa’s Shadow(爷爷的影子), is published in 2024 by Phoenix Juvenile and Children’s Publishing Ltd. (江苏凤凰少年儿童出版社 ), it has won the Outstanding Work Award in the 2nd Oriental Kids Picture Book Award. In 2024, as a picture book author and illustrator, she received the Young Creators’ Recognition for the Path to Innovation Award.
When she is not drawing, she is travelling, reading, climbing and people watching.
