I grew up in Dublin where, as a kid, I was allowed to doodle all over my bedroom walls. I studied classical animation at Ballyfermot College of Further Education, right around the corner from where I grew up.
For over 10 years, I worked in a local youth centre. My job was to inspire young people to be creative. I loved it. It was challenging but very rewarding. During my time in Japan I landed my first children’s book contract, illustrating ‘The Friendship Fairies’ which has become a very popular children’s book series with new books being released each year.
In 2017 I was day dreaming about leaving my job and maybe illustrating children’s books for a living. That summer, I left my job and moved to Japan with my wife, Lou. I have a passion for designing and creating fun, quirky characters. And coffee. I love coffee – not designing coffee, just drinking coffee.
