Hello! My name is Amanda Mitchell. I am an illustrator living in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I create whimsical illustrations with a focus on nature and being outdoors. I love to experiment with colour and patterns in my illustrations.
I got my love of nature and of secret wooded places from my father, who’s favourite pastime was walking- in the mountains, or out of the way roads, and always annoyed us kids by pulling off the road to watch white-tailed deer. I was lucky enough to have freedom to explore the woods while my family was cutting firewood for the winter, and I think the smell of green moss and towering trees had a lifelong effect on me.
When I am not drawing, you can find me playing a video game, reading science fiction, or crocheting something very basic and square (I only know how to do the single stitch). Fun fact about me: I spent my childhood in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, the Mission Valley on the Flathead Indian Reservation.
